Fevery haze continues, so I’m just going to number the images and newses that caught my eye recently. There are four of these things, but some spin off a little. You’ll forgive me, I know.
1.

Keith Bedford shoots Eliot Spitzer for The New York Times. Masterfully done, I think, for a piece about Spitzer trying to find his way as a man in the crowd, no longer as a lauded Governor. Plus, it reminds me of P.L. diCorcia’s heads. And Chuck’s cover.
I love the lady with her ipod.
2.
Paul Newman. Cool Hand Luke film still. Manohla. Check out the slide show.
3.

Polidori! Versailles! Here comes the book, folks. Pre-order away. I have to admit I have a weakness for that Dunst depiction, but these images take the cake.
Did you see them at Houk in April?

This one’s better without the cover print.

I guess plastic on couches/beds spans the centuries.
Reminds me of my Grandma’s house.
Ahem.
4.
Our fourth and final ooh ahh is the magic that is Weeki Wachee. Yet another amazing time-enduring picture haven.
I am convinced this is one of the best places to take pictures, ever. The image above is Rebecca Schrock‘s. I found it on Flak Photo. Caption: Former Mermaids at Weeki Wachee Springs, Weeki Wachee, Florida, 2006.
This place keeps on giving.
You’ll recall my favorite image of all time is Toni Frissell’s Weeki depiction from 1947:

And yes, Weeki Wachee has a Mermaid Camp. But it’s full-up for the year.
Thanks for playing Rachel’s-train-of-thought. I hope to be coherent for ya soon.

Thanks, nice selects for the day. It’s kind of cool to just watch you photo edit from the entire world of photography for a blog post. Sort of an amazing thing to imagine doing each day for a publication no?
I love that Mermaid image a whole lot
Can I make a request? Violins or fiddles. And folk musicians.
