Ahoy, tribe! I hope you are all enjoying some delicious apples and some scrumptious honey. This post has a two-part mission: Jews and Obama.

Let’s start with Obama. If you haven’t yet heard, some brilliant photographers are donating their work for Art for Obama, an online auction that will begin October 1st. Be sure to check out this list and this work, it’s a hell of a crew.

Two: the Jews. One of the pieces available in the auction that caught my eye is the Marc Asnin image above. Here are the details:

30″ X 40″ C-Print, from the New York Times Magazine story “The Oracle of Crown,” 1992. Rabbi Schneerson is the spiritual leader of the Lubavitch movement lecturing his followers at their world headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway Brooklyn, NY.

I did a little web-digging and came upon more of Asnin’s images, from the story entitled Rebbe. Take a look.

  7. @ mgr: the association is that a photo of Rabbi Menachem Shneerson is for sale to benefit Obama, by a Jewish photographer. Pretty clearly laid out there in the visuals.
