Part two of fun food photography in the Times includes an online feature that contrasts progressive foodie types with the insides of their refrigerators. The images are shot by one of my favorites, Lars Tunbjork.
And some of the portrait/fridge images are quite telling.
The New York Times Magazine food issue had plenty of fun this weekend; Looks like photo editor Kathy Ryan gave photographer Martin Klimas a 22-caliber rifle and told him to embrace his anger. Shameless self-promotion moment: check out a little piece of mine over on Tina Brown’s new site, The Daily Beast. We kicked off the party with the always amusing and debonair Slim Aarons.

I took a little stroll in good ‘ole nyc yesterday, and I came upon some photo fun. Above are the windows at Rothman’s, on Union Square North. They even dressed Sarah in an Alaska-appropriate parka. Though I don’t think orange is her best color.
Ok, I guess this isn’t so hard.
Watch how Bob Staake created his cover illustration:
“I guess I have a pretty unusual way of working — at least that’s what my illustrator friends are always telling me. I start by creating the most basic shapes and then refine with details as I go.
Good monday, my friends. I’ve spent a smashing three days in the country among beautiful tamed beasts who jump jumps and win ribbons of every color. Though those of the primary variety are far more valued.
