Yeah, I’m going to agree that it’s a shame for me to leave out the South but there is another very talented videographer named John Carl on this project who started in Virginia. He has covered the SE extensively. I would have loved to see the South, especially New Orleans. I do have to formally disagree about Marfa TX. That place is magic.
I can finally mention that the project is for the Levis “Go Forth” campaign. Telling this story in 30 days for a commercial client has been equal parts amazing, challenging, depressing and inspiring. Between travel and editing I’m only getting about 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. Still in eastern Oregon? You’ve probably already found cowboys that are the real McCoy, but did you find the general store/restaurant/saloon in Adel or Plush (which ain’t). Giant sand dunes (and/or the kitty litter mine) at Christmas Valley? Petroglyphs, hot springs and Pronghorn (critters that could outrun a cheetah) at Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge?

An amazing adventure, indeed!
Like Peter, I can’t believe he left us in the southeast completely out of the equation?!?! There’s all sorts of happenings that could be interpreted as NEW AMERICA in these parts. Many people who are committed to changing our world in ways that some haven’t begun to fathom.
Need a place to stay in NC…..I’ve got an open room in the mountains!!
