On the Docket: Planes and Lips.

jetcover

I’ve been looking at just tons of photography this past week and my eyes hurt it’s been a blast. Fall is a very exciting time for photo geeks- all the galleries turn the lights back on, and a new season of photo books hit the racks. I’ve got several on my wish list, but one I most covet is Josef Hoflehner’s Jet Airliner. What beats pictures that are square, black-and-white, have babes and planes? I mean, come on?!

Hoflehner has a ton of other great work as well- check it out. He does love the stark square, and I love his consistency. Creamy, dreamy pictures.

Here are some women and jets (there are a bunch without ladies too, but what fun is that).

Ok, so switching gears for a second– I was perusing one of my favorite classy image licensing agencies the other day- Trunk Archive, and I saw glossy glossy mouths I just could. not. resist. If I were a Park Avenue dentist I would get on this, stat.

These are by Kutlu, and I love them. One day soon we’re going to have a proper chat with Trunk, just as soon as I get my act together. Exciting!

I want this lipstick.

Anyone out there a mouth model? I wonder how you get that kind of gig.

Normally I would be all over the Airliner book but $50 for 17 photos is insane. Pass.

If each photo were sold separately as a print, they would undoubtedly go for a ton more than $50, even if they were tiny, tiny prints. ;)

the plane pictures are awkward for me. kutlu is usually kind of predictable, but these pictures are stunning.
