Whoa I’ve been gone for a whole week, you folks must have been straight up fiending for mostly-useless-Rachel-based-sort-of-photo-related information. Oof, it must have been rough. But relax, I’m back and happy to feed you more drivel.
Where have I been? Vancouver. Pretty place. Did you know there’s a Vancouver photo school of sorts? It’s true- Wikipedia says artists associated with the term include Vikky Alexander, Jeff Wall, Ian Wallace, Ken Lum, Roy Arden , Stan Douglas and Rodney Graham.
I meant to call up Jeff Wall and do some sort of an interview but I am a pussy was really busy.
So anyway, here are some pictures from my trip. None of them are real knockouts, but I thought I’d share some snaps anyway, just to waste your time. Up there is Whistler Mountain, or the one next to it, it wasn’t clear. We skied around there.

After skiing, the serious highlight of the trip had to be the bunnies. Lots and lots of bunnies. They inhabit/overrun the campus of University of Victoria, which we were visiting.

I tried to make some good portraits but they kept hopping around. So irritating.

Stop hiding!!

This guy was the most cooperative. I reward him with a diptych.
Here is a bunny winter shot that I love and that I did not take. Too bad there wasn’t snow on campus, then I could have mimicked it.

Andrea Galvani took this.
Here are four boat pictures I took from the window of the car. Snappity snap snap snap.

This one may be my favorite. But probably I don’t like any of them.

I got back last night, and my New York Magazine was waiting for me, with an article about New York’s fifty best soups. I LOVE SOUP!
Also, Hannah Whitaker made this image, which is ironic as she made the famous bunny picture of the decade. Though I believe she calls hers “rabbit”.

Which soup do you want? I choose the Onion and Bone Marrow Soup.
I wonder if one of these is Rabbit stew.

I love soup! and Vancouver! and bunnies! I would choose the Vegetarian Borscht, yes please, if I lived in New York.
Holy bunnies! That’s so wild. And matzoh ball soup for me. Welcome back. P.S., it’s winter now. Probably was downright balmy when you left.
Is that a challenge to take the bunny picture of the next decade? I’ll call mine “hare” if I do.
I go to the University of Victoria, where you visited the plethora of bunnies. You should see the spring time with the baby bunnies being adored by students and professors alike, amazing!
The diptych is gorgeous! Look at the little bunny feet, and the bunny ears, and the little cheeks, and the upper lip which I don’t know the right word for
Thanks!
That’s a lot of bunnies. I want to hug one. They’re so cute.
Rachel- Is the onion and bone marrow soup from the Breslin? I had that twice last week when I was in town and it was so delicious even though it sounds so wrong…
the ramen for me!!!!
@Marc: harelip! (unkind when referring to a person w/a cleft lip, but perfectly acceptable for an actual hare.)
The harbour pics are great!
I wonder if you could have a bowl of Rabbit Stew whilst in the galley on a boat in Vancouver Harbor?
