Rachel I must say that I love Helen but I don’t understand the appeal of this kind of photography. Harsh, flat, uninteresting not to mention unflattering on axis light, static compositions, bored looking or expressionless subjects and often a touch of juvenile voyeurism. There is nothing dynamic or interesting going on that I can see. They are neither inspiring nor inspired. They look like bad snapshots. These kind of photos would get you a failing grade as your high school photography project. Why is this kind of work so highly praised and highly paid for? Call me a philistine but I really don’t get it.
