Up in the Air with two Ryans and an M.I.A.

| More

Ryan McGinley is shooting more high flyers for The New York Times. (You might recall his aerial Olympic adventures from a few months ago.) And Kathy Ryan is shooting Ryan McGinley.

And M.I.A. must be having loads of fun. All in all, it made for a pretty sweet spread for Memorial Day Weekend’s Times Magazine.

I think I will officially, at this moment, retire any residual snarky anti-hipstershooter feelings I have for Ryan McGinley. I like his pictures. I’m resigned.

Very excited that Ms. Ryan got in on the action. That’s quite the setup.

If only M.I.A. liked peace and not war.

  2. I completely agree. I’ve been fighting the love for a while, but this series was magnificent.

  4. I know I am sometimes critical, but these are good!

I just wonder if he rotated that first shot one degree to the right whether it would be even better?

  5. these are great.

i shot a wedding on cape cod last weekend and while i was eating with the DJ, she asked if I knew of Ryan McGinley. Turns out he was childhood friends with her son. Small world!

  7. I know what you mean. I had to resign myself to liking McGinley’s work as well.
