I Like You, Dan Winters.

| More

I had a few conversations last week with photographers about likability, and how important it still is, despite all the technology changes and shrinking budgets. In the end, people want to spend time with folks they dig. They want to hire people they just plain like.

You know who I like? Dan Winters. I base this on a youtube video and my intuition, so correct me if you’ve worked with the man and he’s a raging arse. But I kinda doubt it. See?

Dan talks in this video about his honey bee pictures, and let me tell you, they were not easy to find. But in the end, Texas Monthly hooked me up.

You can see the slideshow and hear Mr. Winters talk, here.

And I put together some of the pictures into a little tableaux, here. I think they’re really special.

  3. Agreed. He seems like a pleasant person to be around and I totally agree with your theory on people getting hired because they are enjoyable to work with. The work should be good as well, obviously, but it definitely helps if you aren’t a douche. haha
