J. Crew Goes Photographer Chic

Oh boy, amusing mailbox discovery yesterday! J. Crew has noticed that male photographers are hip and sexy and look good in their button-downs. You know what else is cool? Studio lighting and light meters and gaffer tape. And unshavedness, apparently.

Here is J Crew’s April cover, along with a selection of zexy boy photogs. They are all on on the internets too, but I can’t find you, Michael.

Dear J Crew, are lady photographers next? We can carry tape and “film cameras” too.

Do I spy an X-Rite Color Checker?

It may be a little campy, but is is a fun concept, especially for J Crew. It’s a good mix of the J. Crew brand and the personality of the photographers. Let us know when they do a behind-the-scenes round two shoot.

I was a little sad/annoyed that all the photo stuff was just in the men’s side of the catalog. We want women models that are photographers/assistants too!
