Evan Baden‘s latest work, Technically Intimate, is series of photographs in which models were asked to re-create scenes originally found on the Internet. The images were used to illustrate an article in New York Magazine this week.
You ever see a picture in a magazine and think, “wow, now that’s a tricky assignment”. Me too. I had that x 100 when I saw Timothy Devine’s image for New York Magazine’s “Come Here Often?” column last week.
The wrangling for this thing alone would leave me in tears.
Here’s a fun behind-the-scenes look at our favorite Joan in action on the set for London Fog.
And Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton cease to age.
So I’m innocently reading about egg sandwiches in New York Magazine and I turn the page, and HOLY MARY ETC ETC, there are 35 babies hanging out with a Mohel.
Here we’ve got a little story about food and still lifes and pictures that look like one another. It all started last night when I went home and ate a can of refried beans, a block of cheddar and a fried egg.
There have been so many interesting images recently in the ether that it’s hard for me to keep up. It’s either been an uncommonly compelling week, or I’ve had too much of this orange flavor “all natural” energy drink.
Perhaps the latter, because that looks like a horse in the Target aisle.
Short list of things I love, off the top of my head:
photography
lobster
cheese
sasha obama
glitter
planets
riflery
astronaut ice cream
Seeing as four out of eight of my my favorite things (1/2!) involve food and photography, I appoint myself an expert on food photography.
